Want to soar over Sydney Harbour, but still keep your feet firmly planted? Then climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge for the thrill of a lifetime.

Once off limits to the general public, since 1998 the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb has thrilled over 2 million adventurers with 3600 views of Sydney, the expanse stretching to the Blue Mountains and out through The Heads to the sea.

Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge takes 3 ½ hours. A steady ascent up ladders and over catwalks and arches, it’s a breathtaking scenic climb to the summit 134 metres above the harbour.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge walk operates from the early hours depending on the time of year, seven days a week.  The climb does not operate 30th and 31st December. Why? Because of the fireworks on the bridge on New Year’s Eve.

Safety precautions must be observed. All climbers must be over 12 years of age, children must be accompanied by an adult, no alcohol allowed before the climb and the safety harnesses must be used. Your health is also taken into consideration. Before the climb, you get to use a climb simulator.

Choose from the standard Sydney Harbour Bridge Tour or the Discovery Climb – providing a greater experience of the engineering, design and superstructure of the Sydney Harbour Bridge – both providing breathtaking views and memories.

Cream festival to come to Australia

Proving once and for all that trance has made its triumphant return to the scene – and in a seriously big way so far in 2009 – it’s time to make way for global clubbing brand Cream to return to Australia, with Ferry Corsten heading down under in September for his Twice In A Blue Moon: The Experience tour!

Cream is the UK’s longest running club brand and their first foray to Australia in over 6 years will see the legendary Dutch trance artist Ferry Corsten accompanied by a full production of vocalists and performers, including Italy’s Giuseppe Ottaviani in support. Presented by Hardware, Onelove and inthemix, it’s said to be the first tour of many slated for Cream in the future.

“I’ve always been a massive fan of Cream,” said Richie McNeill, Hardware’s Managing Director. “From their involvement with legendary label Deconstruction to catapulting UK careers for acts like K-Klass, Dave Clarke and even Kylie Minogue, the club has survived almost 20 years of dance music. A true testament to the quality of what they do.”

Likewise, Cream’s CEO James Barton is also clearly excited with the new partnership and possibilities for the future. “Australia is one of the world’s most musically savvy territories and we’re truly amazed by the amount of Ozzys that travel to our shows here in the UK, so it seemed only fitting to take the Cream experience to them.”

Tour Dates:

Thu Sep 10 – Brisbane, Family
Fri Sep 11 – Melbourne, Palace Metro Theatre
Sat Sep 12 – Sydney, Hordern Pavilion

Tickets:

Tickets will go on sale Thursday July 16th

So book your accommodation now to be sure you don’t miss out at Australian Backpackers!!!
