Jobs, jobs, jobs

Who doesn’t love working!

OK – maybe if we had a choice, we would prefer to be lying on the beach…or shopping!

But to shop, you need money, so the quickest way to get money is to get a job that is fun and pays well!

Our friends at Travellers at Work (TAW) run the best Jobs service in the business, they have jobs in;

  • Administration
  • Childcare
  • Customer Service
  • Far and Harvest Work
  • Hospitality and
  • IT

Wear your Poker Face

On January 27, 2009, in Things to do, by Nick

Founded in 2005, the APL is the world’s largest free poker league, and global market leader in the provision of free-to-play poker as entertainment in pubs and clubs.

With over 350,000 members and an average growth rate of almost 500 new players daily, the APL now hosts over 4,000 events per month in close to 800 venues nationally – and counting.

In 2007, the league wrote itself into the history books when it hosted its Tournament of Champions (TOC) – the world’s richest live free roll poker event with a prize pool in excess of $1,000,000. In August 2008 the TOC will also become the world’s largest; with an estimated 1000 runners set to compete.

The APL has given away well in excess of $15,000,000 in its short three and a half years of operation. To this day the APL has maintained its position of market leader in provision of free poker and is now a frontrunner in the national entertainment market.

Try your hand over the coming months at the following events in Sydney;

  • Tigers Memorial Club – Rozelle (talk to us about a free bus ride to this venue)
  • Botany RSL – Botany
  • Gladesville RSL – Gladesville

These events are FREE and provide a great afternoon’s entertainment!

What to do on Australia Day?

There is so much going on around Sydney, so if the weather is willing try out some of the following;

  • Head to Hyde Park and enjoy food and wine and free festivities,
  • Get to your local pub and watch Australia play South Africa in the One Day cricket (from Adelaide),
  • Jump on a bus or train and head to Bondi or Bronte or any one of the local beaches, relax and witness some real Aussie characters,
  • Walk down to the Harbour an watch the Ferry Race and other festivities on the water,
  • Or walk around Sydney and check out some fo the free events on as part of the Sydney Festival 2009

Either way, have a relaxing day and enjoy some of the best that this fine country has to offer!
